You can create tasks in two ways:
Directly through your account;
By importing an .xlsx file for bulk uploads.
Important: It is not possible to pay for tasks that were completed before the contractor was registered on the platform.
1. How to Create a Task Manually
Step 1: Open the Form
Go to the “Tasks” section
Click “Add” to open the task creation form
Step 2: Fill in the Required Details
Amount — Enter the contractor’s payment
Currency — Choose the payout currency
Contractor — Select an existing contractor from the dropdown.
If the contractor isn’t listed, click “Invite a new contractor” and fill in their details.
Step 3: Note on EUR and USD Bank Card Payouts
A 2.8% fee applies to EUR and USD payouts made to bank cards
If the option “Pay the 2.8% withdrawal fee for contractors” is enabled in your settings, you can choose who pays this fee
If disabled, the fee is covered by the contractor
No fee applies to bank transfers over 100 EUR/USD
More details are available in the “Settings” section article.
Step 4: Select a Task Name
Choose from:
Popular task categories
Predefined service types
If the required category is missing, contact support or your 4dev.com manager.
Important: The “Service type” you choose will appear in the supporting documents for both the company and the contractor. Please select it carefully.
Step 5: Complete the Remaining Fields
Provide:
Detailed task description — Describe the work performed in detail: what the contractor did, during which period, and include links to technical specifications or tasks in project trackers if available. This helps confirm that the contractor performed the correct type of work.
Service provision period — Indicate the deadline or period of the work
Why this matters: The service type and task details appear in supporting documents for both the company and the contractor.
2. Task Status After Creation
If the option “Send tasks to work immediately” is disabled in your settings:
New tasks will be saved in “Draft” status
In draft status, you can:
Edit all fields (except contractor)
Delete the task if needed
Once the task moves to the next status, editing is no longer possible.
Learn more in the “Task Statuses” article.
3. Next Steps
To understand how tasks are processed after creation, see “The process of working on tasks”.
