How to Fill Out the Task Import File

Updated over a month ago

Importing tasks from a file allows you to upload any number of tasks in different currencies at once. Before you start, download the sample file and follow the instructions below.

Important

You cannot pay for tasks completed before the contractor is registered on the platform. Make sure the contractor is registered and appears in your list before creating a task.

If the contractor has not yet been added, you can invite them when creating the task — directly from the import file. After uploading the file, the contractor will automatically receive an invitation with a registration link.

General recommendations

  • All fields must be in text format. Excel may automatically convert them to numeric format, so we recommend selecting all fields after заполнение (Ctrl+A) and applying the Plain text format.

  • Required fields must be filled in using Latin characters. Optional fields can be filled in any language.

  • The file contains hints for each field to help you understand what data to enter and in what format.

Required fields

Contractor email

The contractor’s email address. If you specify an email that is not yet registered in the system, the contractor will automatically receive an invitation with a registration link.

For more details, see the article “How to Invite a Contractor to 4dev.com.

Amount

The payout amount. You can use either a comma or a dot as a separator.

Important:

  • The specified amount is the payout amount before platform fees. Fees are charged separately.

  • A minimum task amount applies: 20 USD, 20 EUR, and 12 USDT.

Currency

The payout currency. Use the exact format: USD, EUR, etc.

Card withdrawal fee

Applies only to tasks in USD and EUR. Enter:

  • 1 — if you want the company to cover the card withdrawal fee.

  • 0 — if you want the fee to be deducted from the contractor.

Important

If this field is left empty, the system will apply your company profile settings. For more details, see the article “Task Management Through 'Settings'”.

Service id

The full list of service codes is available in Company → Service Catalog.

Task description

Provide a detailed description of the work performed. You can include links to briefs or tasks in trackers — this helps confirm the type of service.

Service period

The service period. You can use either dates or a text description.

Optional fields

Contractor Name

This field is not used when creating a task, but it helps track payments and set filters when working with the file. It can be filled in any language.

User service name

An internal service name. This field is not displayed in closing documents.

Project

The name of the project associated with the task. This field is optional, but allows you to:

  • Group tasks by project within your company.

  • Separate and track costs in financial reporting.

  • See the project name in the Sales Invoice and in the “Transactions” section.

Video guide

We recommend watching the video guide — it provides a detailed walkthrough of how everything works.
